Apocalyptic Insomnia

Apocalyptic Insomnia

In Apocalyptic Insomnia, I explored the loneliness of lockdown by capturing the vastness and isolating nature of the city during a pandemic. These images are made during one of the loneliest moments of my life in January. I wanted to convey the sense of isolation that up to half of the population in the UK was experiencing during the national lockdown by visualising insomnia I was suffering from. I photographed the route from where I was born in Lewisham to Greenwich where I live now, as a way to reconnect with a city that I feel has grown increasingly distant from me. Although I might live here, the city feels very big without the norms of everyday life.
